Heather Mueller

Heather Mueller is a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner specializing in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry. Yale University-trained, with a Master's in Nursing, she brings over ten years of experience across the full spectrum of psychiatric care — from inpatient hospital settings and intensive outpatient programs to private practice. She spent five years at Weill Cornell NewYork-Presbyterian in the Child, Adolescent, and Adult outpatient psychiatric department, where she developed deep roots in the New York City mental health community and built a wide network of specialist referrals. At Mueller Psychiatry, care is never one-size-fits-all. For some, medication is the right path. For others, talk therapy — or a combination of both. Heather takes the time to understand each person fully before recommending any course of treatment, and she prefers not to prescribe medications during the first session. Return visits are flexible in duration, shaped around each client's needs rather than a clock. Her areas of expertise span depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, substance use, personality disorders, social anxiety, school phobia, postpartum depression, and parenting support. She works with children, teenagers, young adults, adults, and seniors. The practice does not accept insurance directly, but provides documentation for out-of-network reimbursement.
